Simaria Degree Mahavidyalaya, a co- educational Degree College was established in 26th July 2015 by some eminent personalities interested in the social and education development of backward region of Simaria and its adjoining area. One of the eminent social activist Late Shiv jagat ram, Sri Akhilesh Kumar Singh, Sri Binod Bihari Paswan, Sri Devnandan Sahu, Sri Pramanand Singh, Sri Manoj Chandra, Sugan Mahto, Ramgulab Ram, Sri Saryu Rana and Sanjay Paswan of village Banasari simaria played a great role in the establishment of the college. Mr. Surendra Kumar Bakshi, an honest disciplined and professional academician appointed as principal by the management. He has clear vision and mission who inculcated a sense of high ideas to students of the college right from the very beginning. It’s a fast growing institute in his leadership. The college was initially affiliated up to degree level in Arts in 2016 and later on granted affiliation in commerce from 2021 – 24. It is situated on Simaria- Hazaribagh road at distance of 23 km from the district headquarter Chatra and 50 km away from the affiliating authority, Vinoba Bhave University Hazaribagh. It consist of 5.08 acres of land. The college has well qualified and experienced faculty members who ensures students satisfaction in the thirst of knowledge.
The college is imparting undergraduate level bachelor’s Degree (Hons./Gen) level in the arts and commerce education. The college is aiming imparting education to last fraternity of the society like weaker and downtrodden section who dropout education after intermediate due to horrible poverty. The college specially targeting the girls who are unable to go outskirts of their hometown and it is pleasure that 62-70% girls are admitted in various courses and going out with graduation degree since its establishment. The college is successfully playing a vital role to educate the SC, ST, OBC, minorities and poor children from general categories. Education is alone a most important factor that can change the society, fighting with illiteracy, poverty Naxalism and various problems and bring the people in mainstream. The college is playing the vital role imparting education. The students are coming from 32-40 km radius of Simaria subdivision to get education.
The college takes special care for the personality development of the students, for these the college is providing comprehensive opportunities by way of involving them in various social cultural and literacy activity besides NSS and sports though it is a self-finance institution.
